Aim for Active

From May 30 to June 3 students, parents and staff of School of the Nations are invited to work cooperatively to meet the goal of personal wellness in our Aim for Active week.  We hope that the entire school community will focus on increasing minutes of physical activity and making positive changes for a healthy, balanced life.

At School of the Nations, we are now fundraising so that we can install air conditioning into our school gymnasium.  If you or someone you know would like to make a donation to this cause, please speak to Reception.  We are hosting a number of fundraisers during Aim for Active to promote this awareness. Primary students are selling healthy snacks at recess and the Teacher Challenge fundraiser is open to students in P4 and up where we hope to have some fun competition between staff and students.

Students are highly encouraged to participate and represent their colour house team in activities during recess and after school.  Parents are welcome to join in or support students on the side.  Ultimately, it is a week to increase activity, think about overall health and try to make small positive changes for wellness. Please join in!

Kaylum Leong shortlisted for the Hong Kong Young Writers Award 2016

We are thrilled to announce that Kaylum Leong of P3 has been shortlisted for the Hong Kong Young Writers Award 2016.

?

Please take a look at his award winning poem!

The Terracotta Warriors

The terracotta warriors,

Standing straight and tall.

The terracotta warriors,

Standing five feet tall.

The terracotta warriors,

Not moving an inch.

The terracotta warriors,

I won’t even give them a pinch.

The terracotta warriors,

Ready for war.

The terracotta warriors,

I hope they don’t snore!

The terracotta warriors,

Do they each shave?

The terracotta warriors,

Built to guard a grave.

The terracotta warriors,

Do they brush their teeth?

The terracotta warriors,

I hope they each have a sheath.

The terracotta warriors,

Never dying guys,

The terracotta warriors,

Do they wear ties?

The terracotta warriors,

What exactly do they do?

The terracotta warriors,

Do they each wear one shoe?!?

The terracotta warriors,

They’re really tough and strong,

The terracotta warriors,

Do they like to sing songs?

The terracotta warriors,

Do they drink wine?

The terracotta warriors,

Are they like Einstein?

The terracotta warriors,

Made of sharp steel.

The terracotta warriors,

Wriggly as an eel.

THE END
